European Projects

CIRSFID is one of the main centres of excellence in Italy and one of the leading centres at international level for the area of computer science and law.

Among the numerous other research groups, the Computer Science and Law Group (CSLG) has a strong scientific background and a long-term interdisciplinary experience. The group includes both lawyers and experts coming from the faculties of engineering, mathematics, physics, business, philosophy and information science.

CSLG began its activity in 1986 and up until now has taken part in several Italian and European projects. Some of the most recent ones are:

  • ALIS (Automated Legal Intelligent Systems) (FP6)
  • ESTRELLA (The European project for Standardized Transparent Representations in order to extend Legal Accessibility) (FP6)  
  • LEFIS (Legal Framework for the Information Society - Socrates-Erasmus Programme)
  • LEGAL-IST (LEGAL Issues for the Advancement of the Information Society Technologies) (FP6)
  • SEAL (SEAL - Smart Environment for Assisting Legislative Drafting) (FP6)
  • TRIASTELEMATICA (Leonardo Programme)

Past projects include:

  • ALFEBIITE (A Logical Framework for Ethical Behaviour between Infohabitants in the Information Trading Economy of the Universal Information Ecosystem) (FP5)
  • ALIVE (Advanced Legal Issues in Virtual Enterprises) (FP5)
